Some signs
Some of the statements fit you. That is common, and on its own it says little. What matters is whether thoughts or rituals take up a lot of time or cause you distress.
This test is not a diagnosis and not a clinical screening tool. Only a health professional can diagnose OCD after a thorough assessment.

Good to know
- Most people have unwanted thoughts now and then. OCD is about obsessions and rituals that take up a lot of time or cause real distress.
- This scale asks how well statements fit you, not how much time they take or how much they bother you. That is why a high score does not show that you have OCD.
- The scale has no clinical cut-off. The levels only show where your answers fall on the answer scale, not how you compare with other people.
- Liking order or being careful is not the same as OCD.
What helps
OCD can be treated. These are the usual options:
- Exposure and response preventionWith a therapist, you face what triggers the fear step by step without doing the ritual.
- Cognitive behavioural therapyYou work on how you understand and respond to unwanted thoughts.
- MedicationSome medicines can reduce symptoms. A doctor can tell you whether this is right for you.
What you can do next
If obsessions or rituals get in the way of work, relationships or everyday life, talk to your doctor. Feel free to bring this result along.
