You describe yourself as strongly affected by other people's feelings and attentive to their needs. It can make you a good support for others, but it can also be tiring if you take on too much.
What the score means
The 17 answers are combined into a score from 0 to 100. The three levels describe parts of the answer scale. A score of 70 does not mean you are more empathic than 70% of people.
Your two sides of empathy
Feeling with others and acting on it are not the same thing. Many people score clearly higher on one than the other.

How you can use this
- Remember that you can care about someone without carrying their feelings for them.
- Set limits on how much you take on, and take breaks after demanding conversations.
- Ask how the other person sees things before you assume you know how they feel.
What this test can tell you
- The test combines two preliminary IPIP scales. It is a self-report, so it shows how you see yourself, not how well you actually read other people.
- The score has no norms here, so it cannot show how you compare with other people.
- Part of the first scale is about how easily moved you are in general, including crying. Someone can have plenty of empathy without showing strong emotions.
- This is not a clinical test. A low score says nothing about a diagnosis, and it does not mean you lack feelings.
